Finally! Adeptus Mechanicus rules and models for use in Warhammer 40k and the Horus Heresy. We have waited so many years. We’ve always been massive fans of the priests of Mars which you may be aware of from our Iron Guard conversions, the Ad Mech are such a cool faction with a huge amount of background. We are currently working on a Legio Cybernetica army for use in 30k but were just not happy with the magos sculpts currently available from Forge World. They will definitely fit into some armies, but our Legio Cybernetica Mechanicum army is full of big stompy robots like the Castellax and Thanatar, so we wanted an HQ that could stomp along too. Any excuse for a conversion!
This Arch Magos Dominus conversion is not yet complete, but he is far enough along to give you a clear idea of what he’s going to look like. For us this will count as an Arch Magos Dominus with Abeyant and Machinator Array, plus a few smaller wargear upgrades. The eagle-eyed among you may recognise that the base of this conversion is a very heavily modified Inquisitor Karamazov kit. On top of that we’ve used parts from a wide range of kits including Techmarines, Sentinels, Dreadnoughts, and a Forge World Titan Tech Priest. We’ve created some further mechanicus details in plasticard which are the white parts you can see, and the mechadendrites are made following our very own How to Scratch Build Mechadendrites tutorial.
We’re very happy with him so far and look forward to getting him finished so he can lead our army of giant robots in the name of the Omnissiah. Do you think this conversion is a fitting alternative to the Forge World Magos on floating platform? Let us know in the comments below. We’d also love to see any mechanicus conversions you’re working on too!
