Happy New Year, Hobbyists! Its time for an update on our heavily converted adeptus mechanicus themed Space Marine chapter , the Iron Guard. We’ve been putting this army together for a few years and things have come a long way since the original articles we posted some time ago. While the paint jobs on these are still not quite finished, it’ll give you an idea of how the force is coming together.
Here you can see 1 of our 3 Iron Guard Tactical squads, each marine augmented with bionic parts representing their use of the Iron Hands Chapter Tactics in the most recent Space Marine codex. There’s a mix of light servo arms and targeting equipment on their backpacks, and many bionic limbs and enhanced eyes across the squad. If you want to learn more about how we made these, check out our original Iron Guard articles.
The leader of this squad is easily identified by his dual light servo arms and combi-weapon. He’s magnetised in both arms so that he can be outfitted with a range of weaponry as needed.
This marine has a chain-bayonet attached to his bolter, and nearly all of his limbs have been replaced with bionics.
This special weapon marine is currently carrying a plasma gun, but magnets have been used so this can be swapped as required. He makes use of a converted Chaos Marine helmet which had quite a ‘techy’ feel with the horn removed, along with a bionic leg and backpack-mounted light servo arm.
Here’s a quick 40k objective we converted that fits with the force. In games of Warhammer 40k Apocalypse this is used to represent the Shield Generator strategic asset.
We’ve got lots more of this army to catch you up on, all converted with an Adeptus Mechanicus theme that fits well with the Iron Hands chapter tactics from the Space Marine codex, and even the Clan Rukaan supplement if you have it. Watch out in the near future for updates on our Master of the Forge and Thunderfire Cannon conversions, plus we’ve got lots of new units to share including heavily converted dreadnoughts, tanks, and even an Imperial Knight.
